Binney/Galileo Redesign

The CRA is redesigning the streetscape of Binney Street (from 3rd to Fulkerson), Galileo Way and a portion of Broadway (from Ames to Galileo) in Kendall Square. The design will incorporate a continuous separated/raised bike lane (cycle track) and new intersection designs, as well as improvements to bus transit accommodations, and new landscaping elements, while preserving as many existing trees as possible.  Read more...

Kendall Square

The Kendall Square Urban Renewal Plan (KSURP) includes a major urban mixed-use project on a 24-acre site within the 42-acre Kendall Square Urban Renewal Area.  In 2015, the CRA and the City of Cambridge Amended the KSURP along with the MXD zoning district to provide additional housing and commercial development in Kendall Square. In 2016 a new Infill Development Concept Plan and proposed design for a new 145 Broadway building were both approved.  Read more... 

Foundry Building

The CRA is working with the City of Cambridge to facilitate the revitalization of the Foundry Building into a center for creativity and innovation - providing a link between Kendall Square and the community. To deliver a high quality community space, the City and the CRA are proposing to undertake the rehabilitation of the Foundry Building as a publicly funded capital project.  Read more...

 

 

 

 

Forward Fund

The CRA Forward Fund grant program is intended to reinvest development funds generated in the Kendall Square Urban Renewal Area to fund and support physical improvement projects that better Cambridge’s built environment for the benefit of the city’s residents and small businesses. Read more...
