The CRA, in partnership with BXP, has transformed the eastern portion of Galaxy Park between the fountain plaza and the park's eastern edge along Broadway and Main Street into a vibrant landscape featuring predominantly native plant species.
The redesigned landscape will:
Support local biodiversity with food and host plants for birds and pollinators
Introduce a richer mix of plants, including groundcovers, herbaceous perennials, ferns, sedges, and shrubs beneath the existing tree canopy
Create a stronger visual and acoustic buffer from traffic along Broadway and Main Street
Reduce the amount of lawn while preserving open green space for relaxation
Protect the iconic views of the Looking Glass sculpture and its connection to Kendall Square
The CRA and BXP invite the community to celebrate the unveiling of this enhanced public space on Thursday, July 9, from 4:00–6:00 p.m.
We look forward to celebrating with you and welcome everyone to experience the renewed Galaxy Park!
