2326 Massachusetts Avenue
2326 Massachusetts Avenue is a development site that the CRA purchased in August 2024. The CRA plans to replace the current structure on the site with a new mixed-income homeownership building.
Next Steps with 2326 Mass Ave
With housing production slowed in the region, the CRA is forging ahead with its commitment to build affordable homeownership units in Cambridge.
The CRA received proposals from prospective development partners for the 2326 Mass Ave. project in January, 2026. The opportunity came with the offer of a low-interest construction loan from the CRA for 80% of the total development costs.
Following a competitive review process, the CRA Board affirmed Ascent Dev LLC as the Designated Developer for 2326 Mass Ave. Ascent is a partnership between two experienced homeownership developers, DVM Housing Partners and Oxbow Urban. Cambridge-based architecture firm PCA will lead the building design on behalf of Ascent. Together, the team proposed a 16-unit building consisting of two and three-bedroom units, with three of those units being affordable.
Previous Updates
The CRA hosted a virtual event on June 26, 2025 where we shared more about our plans to build homeownership units at 2326 Mass Ave. The feedback received by attendees informed the next steps of the project as we selected a development partner.
