CONSTRUCTION summary

The City of Cambridge managed the Foundry construction project. CambridgeSeven architects developed a design that resulted in a LEED Gold, all electric energy, efficient space with modern systems that also highlights the building’s historic beauty.

Demolition of the Foundry’s interior started in late fall 2019. The project saw delays in 2020 due to COVID. The full construction project was substantially completed and received a Certificate of Occupancy in August 2022, with all final “punch list” items completed by the spring of 2023.

July - September 2022

• Complete ductwork installation on first floor

• Submit final purchase orders for furniture, fixtures and equipment

• Start commissioning building systems and prepare for hand off to the Foundry Consortium
